Tips for writing a good brief

Include a very rough doodle if you can.
It only needs to be stick-man quality. If you don’t have a scanner and doing a doodle isn’t practical, then please make sure you provide as much detail as possible in your written description.

Be as specific as possible
If a dog is in your script, give us an idea of what type of dog (Chihuahua? Great Dane?). The same goes for cars, houses, bicycles, TV’s and anything else which might affect the storyboard. It all helps us get it right for you first time. Be concise, but provide relevant detail. If a character is not able to wear a particular colour of shirt because it is used by a competitor, let us know.

Provide supplementary material
If you are using a celebrity, send a low-res image along with your brief. Send logos and examples of corporate colours. Make sure all of your images are saved as jpegs and are low-resolution.

Provide as many contact details as possible
It is always a good idea to provide more than one email address in case one has a systems crash or an overloaded inbox.
